Lydia Ferrarese represents domestic and foreign
companies in business litigation matters and corporate and
Ms. Ferrarese represents corporate clients in a wide range of
litigation matters, including international commercial disputes
and shareholders litigation. Ms. Ferrarese has represented
institutional investors in securities litigation cases involving
complex international securities fraud (violations of the
Securities Act of 1933 and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934)
including In re Parmalat Securities Litigation, and
represented investors in a complex commercial litigation arising
out of fraud and negligence associated with the winding-down of
hedge funds. Ms. Ferrarese has extensive experience in
conducting discovery, including discovery involving
international parties and related issues of compliance with the
Hague Conventions (Convention of 15 November 1965 on the Service
Abroad of Judicial and Extrajudicial Documents in Civil or
Commercial Matters and Convention of 18 March 1970 on the Taking
of Evidence Abroad in Civil and Commercial Matters) and E.U.
Ms. Ferrarese also advises corporate clients in connection
with their business ventures, advising them in a broad range of
matters such as corporate structuring, shareholder and operating
agreements, and other agreements including distribution,
employment, licensing, non-compete, co-production, publishing,
and processing agreements.
Prior to joining Herzfeld & Rubin, Ms. Ferrarese worked as a
corporate lawyer specializing in Mergers and Acquisitions and as
a business litigation attorney focusing on securities litigation
and commercial litigation.
Ms. Ferrarese received her law degree from the University of
Bologna. She also earned a LL.M. degree in Corporate, Banking
and Finance Law from Fordham University School of Law in New
Ms. Ferrarese is admitted to practice law in the State of New
York and works in the English and Italian languages.
Ms. Ferrarese has been cited in New York Super Lawyers
(2013-2014 Rising Star) for business litigation.
