Manuela Muttoni is an associate in the New York office
of Herzfeld & Rubin, P.C., practicing in the firm’s
international department, where she represents foreign
businesses (primarily Italian and European corporate entities)
in a wide variety of corporate matters and commercial
transactions. Besides assisting the foreign corporate clients
with the successful establishment of their businesses in the
United States, Ms. Muttoni advises both corporations and
individuals on the compliance with the immigration laws of the
United States, as she focuses part of her practice on
immigration–related and visa matters. In particular, Ms. Muttoni
works on non-immigrant petitions for treaty investors and
traders, workers in professional and specialty occupations, and
intra-company transferees, among others.
In addition, Ms. Muttoni negotiates and drafts several
commercial agreements on a daily basis, such as consignment,
distribution, sales representative, service, consulting, and
Ms. Muttoni has experience in assisting clients with
regulatory compliance, in particular with import laws. Ms.
Muttoni represents foreign corporations wishing to import food
and alcoholic beverages into the United States and assists these
clients during all the steps of the licensing process, both at
the Federal and at the State level. Ms. Muttoni also advises
clients on the compliance of the anti-money laundering laws and
regulations, specifically as applied to the high-end jewelry
Prior to joining Herzfeld & Rubin, P.C., Ms. Muttoni was an
associate with a corporate and commercial litigation law firm in
Milan, Italy where she focused her practice on general corporate
law and litigating several civil and employment matters before
the Courts in Milan.
Ms. Muttoni graduated with a J.D. – equivalent law degree
from the Law School “Universita’ Cattolica del Sacro Cuore” in
Milan, and she received a Master of Law degree (LL.M.) in
International Business Transactions and Trade Law from Fordham
University – School of Law in New York.
Ms. Muttoni is admitted to practice law in the State of New
York and in Italy and works in the English and Italian languages
on a daily basis. She is also proficient in German and has a
good knowledge of the French language.
